The fictitious metal furniture company Greyscale offers practical furniture for small spaces that is easy to manufacture and therefore available at low cost.
cabiNet was designed for this company and is a multifunctional piece of furniture as it combines a bedside table, side table and breakfast table. Due to its small footprint and the possibility to slide it close to the bed, it is very space-saving and adapts to people’s small spaces. The net on the underside of the table offers storage space and aims to encourage minimalism.

CabiNet is easy to manufacture as it can be folded from a single sheet of burnished 3 mm sheet steel. Four welding points in the corners keep it in shape and the edges are sanded. It measures 60 cm in height, 25 cm in width and 30 cm in depth. With a weight of 6.7 kg, cabiNet is stable and yet light enough to lift and move.
The curved side walls give cabiNet stability and conceal the elasticated net, which is attached to the laser-cut tabs on the underside of the lid and can be attached and removed as required. Thanks to its elasticity, it offers plenty of storage space and holds the contents firmly in place, even when the table is turned 90 degrees. The rubber studs on the base prevent the floor from being scratched.
